The Bamberg Symphony Orchestra was established in 1946 and was the first German orchestra to tour Europe, USA, Asia and Africa after World War II. The orchestra is a proud guardian of Germany’s symphonic tradition and has collaborated with leading conductors. Such as London-born Ticciati, who turned to conducting at the age of 15 and. With his Filarmonica della Scala debut in June 2005 and his Salzburg Festival debut in 2006, Ticciati became the youngest conductor to conduct at La Scala and in the history of the famed Austrian festival. Another enfant prodige is the acclaimed Austrian pianist Rudolf Buchbinder, that with five years of age was the youngest student ever to be admitted to the Vienna Musik Hochschule.
