As.Li.Co., together with Regione Lombardia and Teatro Sociale di Como, presents the first edition of a music festival on Lake Como. A music festival on the lake: a festival of which water is a symbol of lively and fluid culture. Music like vivid water flowing through the city and connects its districts and people. Music in all its genres: opera, symphonic, ballet, pop…
A musical festival in a city with an ancient and prestigious musical history, where Ricordi, Foscolo, Bellini and Stendhal used to study and spend their time thanks to the peaceful and fresh air, far away from the roaring noisy city. A lake representing a dear shelter to rest and relax for vips, too.
As a tribute to Como’s textile manufacture, a fashion show will open the festival, that will then move to other charming locations in town: the ancient Stadium Sinigaglia, the park of Villa Olmo, S. Abbondio cloister.

Como Città della Musica Festival represents a pleasant and unexpected rendezvous for Como, having a deep twofold value: it’s, in fact, both a challenge for those who pledged themselves to invite here international artists and an attempt to provoke and incite our city and its audience. A provocative answer to those who consider Como like a faded picture of ancient glorious times that will never return, without realizing that such a nostalgic point of view actually holds back every attempt of renewal.
This festival aims also at strengthen the qualitative idea of made in Italy products, thus relying on a new synergy among local authorities, institutions and cultural, creative and productive companies. This is the evidence of our ability to cooperate today, though already looking ahead to Expo2015, when our region and our city will play a crucial role in the international outline.

Como Città della Musica Festival is an event of extraordinary importance for Como, as it contributes to promote our city at high levels, and gives us the chance to think on a large scale. World-famous artists will bring on stage performances of high standards. Opera, fashion, pop music, ballet, classical music… each one can choose the most fitting event – as the festival’s name hints at – and can decide its own favourite musical and artistic dress…
Comune di Como, Regione Lombardia and Teatro Sociale are involved and deeply committed in order to offer an excellent and exciting summer in Como, for both tourists and our ctiziens.
